SwimRecord ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the SwimRecord application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
When you use SwimRecord, we may collect the following information:
a) Personal Information
- Name or Nickname: To personalize your profile and records.
- Gender: To provide accurate categorization and analysis of swimming records.
- Nationality: To ensure proper classification and identification for records and performance analysis.
- Date of Birth: To place you in the correct age category for results comparison with other users of the App.
(⚠️ Note: Although we collect your date of birth for classification purposes, only your age will be visible to other users of the App).
- Disability Class S and Class SB: To accurately categorize and evaluate performance based on your classification.
- Event record information such as date of event, name of gala, stroke, distance and timing data.
(⚠️ Note: You have the option to add private notes to event records - these will not be visible to other users of the App).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
- Profile Management: To create and maintain your account.
- Performance Tracking: To analyze and display your swimming progress based on classification and age category.
- Data Analysis: To improve app features and provide insights into user performance.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may disclose your information in the following situations:
- Legal Requirements: If required to comply with legal obligations or protect the rights, property, or safety of SwimRecord, our users, or others.
4. Data Retention
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App’s services. Your personal information is kept private by default but may be made available to other users depending on your Profile Visibility Settings (refer to section 7).
5. Security Measures
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. We implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard your data, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your information:
- Access and Update: You can access and update your information through your profile settings.
- Privacy: Refer to section 7.
7. Privacy Controls and Profile Visibility
a) Profile Visibility Settings
SwimRecord gives you control over the visibility of your personal information. By default, your profile visibility is disabled, meaning other users cannot view your profile or any of your personal information. If you choose to allow other users to see your profile, you can enable the "Allow other users to see profile" switch on the Edit My Profile page.
When this option is enabled:
- Other users may view your name or nickname, age (but not your date of birth), nationality, disability S and SB classes and event results (official competition data).
(Training records and private event record notes will remain private and will not be shared with other users, regardless of your profile visibility settings).
If you prefer to keep all your information private, you can leave the profile visibility setting disabled, ensuring that only you have access to your personal information.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App and will become effective upon posting. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed.
